Following feedback from last year’s event we are making several improvements and additions to this year’s Programme.
Firstly, we plan to introduce additional plenary style sessions in the main EXPO Arena.
Minister Denis Naughten has already confirmed his attendance at this year’s event and will participate in the Official Opening & Panel Discussion which is scheduled to take place on the raised platform at 10:15am.
At 2pm there will be a lively panel discussion on ‘Sustainability in Agriculture’ with senior Irish Sustainability and Agricultural voices.
At 3.30pm we will introduce the ‘Innovation Showcase’, which will demonstrate the best and brightest innovations from the last 2 years that aim to increase efficiency and sustainability of our farms. This will be an innovative showcase in an audience driven Dragons Den format.
Secondly, the seminar talks will now be grouped into 3 streams targeted at different audience. For ease of navigation, talks for each stream will take place in larger sized dedicated venues clustered around the exhibition hall. The three streams comprise:
1. Practical on-farm energy topics including Reducing Energy Costs, Fuel, Lighting, Heating, grants & how to invest sensibly in microgeneration.
2. The second stream covering the Support System for Renewable Heat will identify the business opportunities to supply energy either via commodity supply contracts or becoming a heat entrepreneur, Growing Energy Crops, becoming a timber processor & Small-scale district heating as a tool for rural re-vitalisation.
3. The third stream will focus on more high-level & support areas for larger scale investment including Legal, Planning, Financing, Public Consultation & Community Co-ownership.
The detailed agenda is currently being finalised and will be posted here in due course.
